Yuzu Soda

This non-alcoholic Yuzu Soda that combines tart Yuzu juice* with ice and sparkling water helps you to stay refreshed and hydrated during summer, especially during a heatwave.

Add a few slices of cucumber and some lemon balm leaves to create a great mocktail you can serve at parties and other gatherings. If you are a sweet tooth, mix the Yuzu juics with some sugar and make it a lemonade. You can also swap the sparkling water with Tonic Water.

Ingredients

  • 1 big ice cube**

  • 2cl yuzu juice

  • sparkling water

  • thin slices of cucumber (optional)

  • lemon balm or mint (optional)

Method

Take a glass and add a big ice cube. Add the yuzu juice and fill the glass with sparkling water. Top with cucumber, lemon balm or mint if you feel fancy.

*Yuzu is a citrus fruit from East Asia with a tart taste between grapefruit and lemon. Its juice is expensive but very aromatic, so you usually only need a small amount, and a bottle of Yuzu juice will last a while. You can also use it for dressings and sauces. While the Yuzu fruit itself is still hard to come by outside its native region, you might be able to find bottled Yuzu juice at some speciality stores or Asian supermarkets.

**I love this silicone ice cube tray from Muji.
