ABOUT KTINKA
Hi, my real name is Katrin, but you can call me Ktinka. I am a self-taught photographer based in Zurich, Switzerland.
In my photography practice, I’m drawn to the subtle appeal of the overlooked—unpolished details, human traces, and ordinary subjects that reveal their character through simplicity.
I approach digital and analogue photography with the same deliberation and care. With the help of compassion for my subjects and a focus on natural light, I aim to reveal unexpected details in everyday situations.
Someone once described my photographs as “bearing witness to a way of looking at life that is often missing: an openness to the strange beauty of the moment.” Documenting what I see is also an attempt to hold on to these fleeting moments that make up our lives and to preserve the essence of a place at that certain moment.

I travel often. Usually, I return with a collection of photographs and places, some end up in curated travel guides. Occasionally, I write articles about my travels and other topics for magazines.
