ABOUT KTINKA

Hi, I’m Katrin – or KTINKA, a self-taught travel and documentary photographer based in Zurich, Switzerland.

I capture places, moments and human traces. I am often attracted to the subtle appeal of overlooked subjects that reveal their character through simplicity.

By empathizing with my subjects and focusing on natural light, I aim to reveal unexpected details in everyday situations. I approach digital and analogue photography with the same deliberation and care.

Someone once described my photographs as “bearing witness to a way of looking at life that is often missing: an openness to the strange beauty of the moment.”

Documenting what I see is also an attempt to preserve the essence of a place at a specific moment and hold on to these fleeting moments that make up our lives.

I travel often. Usually, I return with a collection of photographs and places, some of which end up in curated travel guides. Occasionally, I write articles about my travels and other topics for magazines.

Beyond photography, I help brands as a content strategist to create meaningful user experiences. With over 13 years of experience in digital agencies and publishing in Berlin and Zurich, I now work independently as a content strategist and creator, focusing on efficient, well-structured content that supports business goals.
